I have been shooting crossbows for about 5 years now. I have a friend who has a Equinox and he let me hunt with it about 5 years ago and that's how I got into hunting with crossbows. After hunting with the Equinox I wanted a Excalibur crossbow but never had the money to get one. Well my first crossbow was a Horton SL and I killed a few deer with it then I sold it and bought a Horton Legend II and have hunted with it the last 3 years. Well I got a heck of a deal on a Excalibur Axiom the other day from a guy and now I know what a real crossbow is. Don't get me wrong the Horton crossbow's are good but it is a night and day difference between the Horton and the Excalibur. I shot it for the first time today and the Axiom is a tack driver out to 40 yards for me and with my Legend II I always keep the shots under 30 yards. I am really looking to hunt with it soon.

Congrats on the Axiom they're great crossbows I hope you get a deer with it this year.
