Post by sagedoc »

Hello again,

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a tripod or other such device to use on my equinox or soon to be gotten Matrix 380?

Thanks

I used my Harris S-BR 6" to 9" Bipod when I had my Equinox. I now use it on my Matrix 355. I target practise with it on, but take it off for hunting.

Here some old pics on my Equinox.

When hunting in a ground blind I use the bog gear bogpod. It is a bipod. It has worked well for us. My son shot his first deer at 35 yards with this bipod. He is seven years old and he loves to practice with the matrix after school. he uses the Bog-pod everytime. Even with the rope cocking aid some days I get tired of cocking for him. I still enjoy watching him shoot no matter how tired I am. I got it from Academy for $39.99 I believe.

I use Cabelas shooting bipod/tripod. The third leg easily screws off. It fits well in my blind, is lightweight and stable.

Another vote for the Caldwell Deadshot. It is a great thing to have for hunting from a ground blind. When the deer show up the only real movement I have to make is maybe to swivel it left or right to get on the deer. Works great for long target sessions too.

Check out the Primos Trigger Stix. They come in mono, bi, or tri pod. They don't attach but are great for blinds or stands. Rock solid and adjust by simply squeezing the trigger on the handle and release it when you're at whatever hight and angle you want. They also self level so you can be on a side hill where one leg drops to say 3' and the other to 5' to let you automatically shoot level on the side hill.
You're only paranoid if everyone isn't out to get you.

Decided to go with a bogpod tripod this year since I also handgun hunt with my 30-06 Encore Pistol at times. So far this season in NC nothing large enough to shoot with the new matrix, muzzleloader, or even 30-06 rifle, crazy season here in the nc mtns. Freezing rain out right now with sleet later this afternoon so inside hunting today, ie outdoor channel and sportsman channel.....

the trigger stick is awesome for walking into the woods and use in your treestand...taken many deer using it....the dead shot is great for a blind hunting or sighting in your crossbow/gun
