OK...
I went to the Gold Tip Arrow website in an effort to build my own arrows:
1. I Shoot the Matrix 380 presently with the Diablo's (18"),
2. Everything I have read is FOC should be between 8 and 12%.
Here is what I built step by step:
A. Laser III ProSeries,
B. Cut to 18" (Laser III Pro 20 flat),
C. 11/32" EZ pull 125g field tips,
D. Flat butt nock,
E. Brass insert....
Total grains= 423.6 FOC Balance is 22.94%
Wow...versus the 8-12% which it s/b correct?
If I change the fletching to 4" vanes the FOC drops to 21.90% and the arrow weight increases to 436.8
Whatsup here....am I missing anything or does FOC really not matter?
Thanks,
Anthony

Re: Gold Tip Arrows-Build Your Own Conundrum
Carbon arrows fly better with a higher FOC. You can try 100 grain tips, that would be OK.
