BEAUREGARD, Alabama — Lee County sheriff's officials say a hunter has been hospitalized in serious condition after falling from a tree and landing on an arrow.

The Opelika-Auburn News (http://bit.ly/1kZN0or ) reports that a 27-year-old man fell out of a tree stand Monday evening in eastern Alabama and emergency responders found an arrow lodged just above his heart.

The man was taken to the Columbus Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia

Sheriff Jay Jones says the man's identity hasn't been released. The state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is investigating the accident.

He is one lucky guy. I hope he pulls through to hunt again. He will probably become the ambassador of safety.
