Help with illuminated bolt selection?

Post by huntr104 »

This year I hunted with my new Matrix 380. I love the crossbow but for the 2014 season I want to hunt with lighted nocks on my bolts. So my question is....What are my options for lighted nocks? And what bolt/ broadhead/ lighted nock combo work for you and would recommend? Thanks. Happy New Year!

Seems a lot of forum members really like their lumenoks, and they might be real good, but I wouldn't trade my Firenoks. Been shooting the same 3 nocks, 6 years with a Tenpoint and this past year with a Matrix 355. Both target and hunting. Not one failure.

aYup! Big John's creations are literally Works Of Art! :D

Had him set the 380 up with 18.5" Black Eagle Executioners, with Lumenok rears and brass fronts.
PINPOINT Accurate at rather extended ranges (I like to target shoot a fair bit) and no failures whatsoever. LOVE watching that RED LED Streak to target whether simply a "target" or right through a deer!

Ran with 125 grain Spitfires this year with great results, although I am toying with trying out the new 125 grain Toxics just for Giggles...

Cheers & Good Luck with your selection! Can't go wrong with Big John "LumiCutioners" though methinks

Excalibur has stated that they will only accept Lumenok as an option to use on their bows and still honour warranty.
Please remember this.

Big John is my go to guy for arrows of any kind including some sweet luminoks. All have flown perfectly, so long as I do my part and I know I can't buy the parts to build arrows for the price of a set from the master. Trust me I have tried, and I may make up a set just to have the satisfaction of shooting something I made myself, but I promise you, when I am looking at a deer through my scope there will be a Big John arrow on the rail.

Nothing looks sweeter than a range covered in glowing dots in each target center. Just remember not to shot at the same spot twice as those luminoks can add up in a hurry.

For those interested in luminoks but concerned about losing some in practice, John can weight match a set of luminok arrows and a set of regular arrows. That way you can save those pricy arrows for the critical shots and still be able to practice to your hearts content. Honestly you could not tell the difference, both sets are tack drivers.

Simple fix.....PM BigJohn, tell him what you want, wait for mail man. Don't get much easier , and his arrows are super. He's a great guy and will take good care of you. Lets not complicate things.
