ADF ON YOUR EXCAL

Post by bolt chucker »

Looks like now's the to put the new ADF on your old Excalibur. To protect it!! Warranty in the future might not be there. I'm buying 3 for the 3 excals I own now.

Life is to short to worry about something so minor as breaking a limb or something silly like that. Three ADF cost what $220 to $250. Last year I bought a whole bow for that much, then you would have spare everything if you are that concerned.

Besides I bought a new set of limbs a while back and they cost me $118 out of a store. Also got a pair brand new in black mag tips for my wolverine and paid $80. If I gotta pay to fix them so be it. Not going to let it rule my life. Only things for sure in this world is death and taxes.

ADF at $60 each is cheap insurance. I bought all 3 of my excals new. Over $2,000 invested in them. why not $60 more per bow. If I bought them used that's would be a different story

Quite frankly, I do not understand the criticism that certain forum members throw at others for wanting to have an insurance policy for a "just in case" scenario. We were all provided with new facts over these last ten days....from an acquisition of Excalibur to an assurance that nothing will change from Bill T and Peter B....

I think we all have lived through scenarios where we panicked and the worst never happened....but I also believe that we have experienced where we thought the effect of a change would be minimal and it turned out to be worse than what we expected!

I just don's see what is wrong with providing ourselves with a sense of comfort in purchasing spare parts....especially if someday we will use them or they make our Xbow more safe in the short term....

I think if Excalibur offered an insurance product that guaranteed lifetime repair work to their line of Xbows (to original and subsequent owners) for a reasonable one time fee....I dare say the majority of those responding with, "the sky is falling" would jump all over it and sign up!

I can understand someone putting on the adf.

I don't like them, but they have their place.

I FINALLY got those darn screws to come out and put the aftermarket ADF on my Vortex today. Only problem now is it has no limbs on it. But as soon as Danny gets new ones to me I shall come back and tell you if I like it or not.
Not going to test the ADF though. Just going to see if I can still decock in the dark without any problems.

Quite Frankly, I don't understand the raw, unadulterated fear of the unknown publicly displayed when the news first broke. Honestly, the initial reaction was both hilarious and at the same time embarrassing. Truly an amazing lack of faith! I for one will patiently wait and see what happens.

Agreed. It does for me anyway.
I see nothing wrong with protecting your investment.
I feel better about others shooting my crossbow .
Hauling my bow up and down my tree stand.
Carrying my bow without an arrow loaded while walking through dense brush or crossing a fence line or over uneven terrain.
Transporting my crossbow to and from my hunting spot on my 4 wheeler without an arrow loaded.

Anti dry-fire built into the new scope mounts. $60 each would be a good price. Collecting parts is good also. Used parts never hang around long in trading post so people must do it. Enough parts and the end outcome is limitless.

Excalibur builds “Guardian” Anti-Dry-Fire Technology into the Matrix 380 Series crossbows – this system prevents dry firing, allows easy de-cocking.

The Guardian™ Anti-Dry-Fire system prevents dry firing and allows easy de-cocking. In the event the crossbow is fired without an arrow, the Guardian system, a self-contained unit housed inside the crossbow’s scope mount, catches the string preventing the crossbow from dry firing, thereby preventing possible damage. It also features a built-in release so, at the end of your hunt, unlike with the other anti dry fire systems, you can easily de-cock your crossbow without having to fire an arrow, a major advantage. The Guardian system is standard on some Excalibur Matrix models and is available as an aftermarket part for all other Excalibur crossbow models.
