Newbie Mistake

Post by SlackjawedSasquatch »

When removing a bolt (w/broadhead) from my quiver I accidentally tapped the string with the broadhead. Now I have to order a new string to replace my new string!

forehead slap.

It's an easy thing to do, I bet you're not the first one that's happened to. Most guys keep an extra string or two with them. If that happens in the field, if you don't have another string ready to go you're done for the day. Another one of the advantages of Excalibur crossbows, you can restring in the field and keep on hunting.

I thought about upgrading to a nicer string but clearly I don't deserve to. I'll stick with the standard until I'm more experienced.

You can talk to Danny about an Overbow quiver mount while you got him on the phone. He has a couple of good ones at reasonable prices.
Also, dont sell the factory strings short. The Excel endless loop string is amazing at how maintainence free it is, and the factory fast flight flemish is a really quick string. Both are quite a bargain for the price Miller gets for them.

Never had this problem, but now it makes me stop and think. I always have my bow case in the truck, and my stringer, but not with me in the woods. May have to change, and start bringing an extra string, and the striger with me. I would had for this to happen, then have to walk all the way back to the truck.

I do need another string, as the extra one I have, doesn't shoot the same as the one on the bow, so it wouldn't do me much good.....RR
