limb assembly gap
on my recently purchased m355 I have a .008 gap between back of limb assembly and rail that I can't sqeeze out.is this ok? does it affect anything.would it be advantageous to put piece of .010-.012 shim stock in there to tighten everything and make it more rigid. you guys have a great forum and like how helpful everyone seems to be.belong to a couple of other outdoor forums where there just seems to be way to much coflict and unacceptance of others opinions.

Re: limb assembly gap
I have seen alot of them wid that much n more. Personally i find anything over.004 not acceptable. They use CAD system & should be able to maintain spec's. I have had great luck wid 10 Excals i have owned in that area, mine fromtouchin to .002
Re: limb assembly gap
In all honesty that very small gap is inconsequential. Enjoy your Excalibur!

Re: limb assembly gap
i hate looking at that gap too. i rub some of the green excalibur string wax down in the space to fill it .not on the top of the rail but just to fill the void so i dont have to look at it.

Re: limb assembly gap
No worries because mine arrived the same way. As long as there isn't any play after the bolts have been tightened, then all should be fine.

Re: limb assembly gap
Norn is right. As long as nothing on the riser touches the arrow during flight the gap will not affect arrow flight. I've tightened the bolts with the riser set back and it eventually migrates forward. I've tried red loctite and cranking the snot out of those bolts and stopped wasting my time a long time ago. Excalibur has been making it that way forever. It works as intended so I have no reason to waste my energy trying to alter something that achieves nothing.
Luckymike, if it shoots as it should don't worry about it. It's the way Bill had intended it to be. If I can shoot less than 1" at 50 yards with broadheads with that gap I'm happy and I'm happy!

Re: limb assembly gap
The matrix has a lug on the bottom of the riser that locates into a corresponding hole in the rail,so on a matrix no amount of pushing back will close that gap.
The riser ain't going nowhere so no worries.
