Re: Heavy weight
Man what a storm. We were lucky, we got a little freezing rain then about 5-6 inches of wet, heavy snow on top of that. Lots of folks got hit HARD. Poor old fella across the street had limbs break on every pine he has. So glad I cut mine down a few years ago. I'll be out there tomorrow helping him clean up, can't get much done during the work week.
I did have a little fun with it though, took my beater hunting jeep out before work one morning to 'check the road conditions'

Re: Heavy weight
We got almost 8" of new snow about two weeks ago, then freezing rain/sleet on top of that a few days later. Have only seen a few hours of above freezing temps (and not much above) since. Getting fresh snow tonight (3-5" predicted). A layer of ice between two layers of snow might be interesting!
The good news is temps are supposed to go well above freezing next week.

Re: Heavy weight
Sure has been ! we lost power in mid dec for 4 days , and two weeks ago the water main under the road that feeds out house froze . The city won't/can't fix it until spring . We have a neighbors outdoor faucet hooked to our outdoor faucet with a hose across the driveway back feeding into the house . We have to leave the water running at all times or the hose will freeze , and sometimes even then . We are on our third hose . I am ready for spring .Kegbelly wrote:It's been a long, cold, tough winter for a lot of folks.

Re: Heavy weight
So this morning I was about to plow out the driveway cept I got the 6x6 stuck in a snow drift of heavy snow on ice. My darling wife comes out and sees me standing in knee deep snow with a shovel in my hands and ask me what ya doing? Just holding my shovel, dear! Think I'm stuck, and she says why you stuck, as I'm pulling out a hundred ft of winch cable!
And that's how the Valentines day fight started!
Just Kidding, I kept my mouth shut!!

Re: Heavy weight
They need the cold and the snow over in Russia right now for the Olympics.
The weather they have is more like springtime for sure.
