I would play it safe and ditch it & I would suggest ordering a string with whiskers, you will be pleasantly surprised with how it sounds and you won't ever have to mess around with fuzz busters again!

These guys know what they're talking about. Not worth the risk of possibly damaging the bow, not to mention it's a pretty serious safety issue if the string were to turn loose unexpectedly.

There is tool used by archers to separarte bow strings. The" E-Z String Separator",maybe used when applying center servings, peeps and bow string silencers. This tool is small easy to use, no sharpe edges and can be purchased for less than $10.00 from any Archery store or Cabela's. This may correct the broken string issue. Go to Cabela's site for photo and more info.

If its an endless loop string (standard string) yeah toss it away.
If it was a reasonable flemish string with a good strand count, you could safely get more out of it if you had too by cutting the 2 loose strands out, as all strands are independent. It will not unravel under tension like an endless loop will.

If you are thinking of adding fuzz busters or working on your string it is best if you remove it first. Not only is it easier, but safer and you'll avoid any damage.
