The first ones I did (S5's) I used a hack saw then touched them up on a bench grinder. On the REDS I just ground them down from the start. Wear some gloves, they get hot if you grind on them for long! Then take some fine sandpaper and smooth the ends down so there's no sharp edges to cut the inside of the pads. Good luck!

I chucked mine into a drill and introduced the ball to a bench grinder. Kegbelly is right, it does get hot so keep some water near by and use it often.

I found that the easiest way to modify the REDs is to loosen the little set screw under the riser, pull the REDs off and then put Danny Millers RBBB's back in their place!    . Sorry...coundn't resist being a smart aleck today!

I did the drill trick that Boo described too and that worked the best. Gets them the most even.

I ended up taking about 3/16" off mine. Some guys have said they take more off. I don't know if all the REDS are like this but mine had some very light tool mark lines around the circumference of the ball, that's what I used as a gauge and ground each one down to the same line. Don't go past the halfway point on the ball and try to get them both close to the same length.
