Help me build my Crossbow.

Post by stoneycreekhunter »

Any feedback would be appreciated. I still can't figure out what I'm going to do for a quiver, arrows and target block.

Thanks,

Mino

I'm fine with the stock quiver or quicky quiver. Bolts, I'd say 18" BE Zombies with 92gr brass inserts, 100gr points, and 2"blazers. Also, I'm loving the HHA Optimizer.
edit: forgot about the target. Field points, spyderweb crossbow target is great but pricey. Third hand archery rag bag target is probably best. Rhinehart rhinoblock for broadheads. Woody's arrow lube and Danny Miller plier pullers to get arrows out of your broadhead target.

That would about be my suggestions as well. No matter how you slice it (   ) that bow is gonna tear up about any BH target you buy. I'd figure on a new one every year or so.

The great thing about the rhinoblock is that you can replace the core without having to buy a new target. Although I'm not sure what the price difference actually is.???

My 2 cents, Whatever quiver you choose,I would go with a top mount if you plan to sling you bow in the woods like a rifle. Your vanes will appreciate it very much. As for a target, you can't beat the Rhino-block.Also, a lot of the guys swear by the bag that you stuff yourself. Boo says they'll stop anything except a freight train or a nagging wife.

Danny Miller makes a sweet little top mount that weighs mere ounces. The Bohning top mount is a good choice too. I'd go with a Quiki 3-arrow quiver and Black Eagle Executioners, spine matched and indexed with, brass Lock & Load inserts and Blazer vanes for fine arrow package.

(If you do go with Lock & loads torque them in hard and check them now and then to be sure they stay tight.)
