Post by capefearhunter »

Bout to pull the trigger on a new Matrix. Im gonna need a scope. Anyone have any views on these two scopes? Or maybe another that is in that price range.

Never used the Nikon crossbow but I sure love my hawke XB-30 SR scope that I have on my Matrix 380. I'm going to order another one for my Ibex. I have 3 Nikon Buckmaster scopes on my rifles and they are above average.

Both are excellent choices. I have the XR Bolt from Nikon, could not be more pleased with it!

X3 on the Nikon Bolt on my M380. I just intalled this weekend but bad weather has kept me from playing. You will be amazed how crystal clear and bright it is. Sunny and 65 degrees later this week. Let the fun begin.

Both are outstanding scopes. The Redfield was just too long for the Matrix, or i would have got one for it. People do use the long scopes on their Matrix bows, but I just thought it looked like truck wheels on a Corvette! The Redfield is one MM larger, and really the optics are just as clear, and bright with a little larger field of view. Also the Redfield has a speed ring to adjust your reticles to the exact yardages marked. Also a ranging feature that is cool, and fairly accurate. To me there is no better scope for the older models.

I have the new XB30 on my 355 and I am really happy with it . Sharp óptics, glass etched and lighted reticle, the reticle has the yardages marked, you will need 30mm rings.Lifetime guarantee. No distortion around the edges of the lens like alit of other crossbow scopes.
