Re: magnus bullhead broadheads
I've never tried them but I've heard your range is a little more limited as they like to drift a bit and you have to use a rope stirrup or a bracket to shift the stirrup down to clear the heads. Would love to see one of these things connect though.

You'll want to be sure those will clear your foot stirrup if you chose to use em.

Re: magnus bullhead broadheads
I emailed Magnus and the CEO responded saying if I wanted to use them out of my 405 I would need to use 22" bolts.
Re: magnus bullhead broadheads
I emailed also and i had already bought 125gr bullheads. Mike Sohm CEO said to send them to them and they will exchange for the 100gr. 22'' bolts with 4'' vanes. I like the life time warranty of all magnus broadheads.ryandir wrote:I emailed Magnus and the CEO responded saying if I wanted to use them out of my 405 I would need to use 22" bolts.

Re: magnus bullhead broadheads
The alternative would be to switch out to a rope stirrup for turkey season.

Re: magnus bullhead broadheads
I just got Big John to put together some 22" BE Zombies. I'm getting surgical accuracy out of the Matrix 380 at 20 yards. I'm not going to bother testing them any further... I won't be shooting any further than 10 to 12 yards.

Re: magnus bullhead broadheads
I haven't yet and not sure if I will get around to trying them out this year or not but will eventually. I don't really want to go to that long of an arrow to clear my stirrup so when I do, I will be removing my S5's and going to a rope stirrup or building an offset bracket. Someone else had posted a while back a bracket they had made to simply offset their normal stirrup down about 2 inches. Looked pretty slick if you have the equipment to build one.Pinesap wrote:

Re: magnus bullhead broadheads
I got set up for them late last season. Got out the last two days but only saw one hen. Will be trying them this season.
BE Zombies 22" with 4" vanes 92 gr. brass inserts Lumenoks 100gr. Bullheads
Remember with the 22" shafts, the heads stick out past the stirrup!
I tried the rope stirrup, but found it somewhat cumbersome to use.
By practicing with the pillow and a turkey picture taped to it, my experience is they have adequate accuracy up to about 25 yards for an ethical decapitation.
I found that different bullheads will fly differently on the same shaft, so a selection process may be in order to get 2-3 shaft/head combinations that give the same POI.
FWIW, the 3 shaft/head combinations that gave me the best consistency happen to have the identical orientation of the bullhead blades when tightened on the shaft.
I did try the 125 gr. Bullheads, but they were not consistently accurate enough in my hands. Though they are good to the 25 yard range out of my compound bow.
When you break and or bend the Bullheads, take pictures of the damage at the end of the season to e-mail Magnus for their warranty replacement. They are awesome to deal with in my experience.

Re: magnus bullhead broadheads
I have been working with Mike at Magnus for the last year and this is what I found out the Bull Head 20" zombies 2" blazers fletch with a Arizona Jig the spinning insert by Ethics Archery 90grn. and a Lumenock. with a 100grn Bull Head. for my purpose you can't beat that combo. but to each their own.
let me tell you this that's one heck of a broad head for turkeys , head shots only . if you hit it in the body all you will get is feathers .
