new to Crossbows

I'm new to hunting and I am looking for a 300+fps crossbow to start with to hunt Turkey and Deer.

Are you looking for a new xbow or a used one? Other than 300+ fps, what did you have in mind? (all of the newer models shoot faster than 300 fps.)

For deer and turkey sized game I wouldn't get too caught up on the speed thing. My Ibex shooting a 410 grain arrow at about 295 fps blows right through deer with no issue at hunting distances. If you are looking for something to do long range target shooting with, then that changes priorities a bit.

Find one that fits you well and you find balance with and practice. A lot of the fun in owning a crossbow is they are joy to shoot all afternoon and you just can't beat Excalibur's reliability and accuracy across their whole line of bows.

JW2505, keep an eye open in the trading post. There have been lots of used xbows posted there. One just sold this evening.
