Mich. Turkey Hunter Question

Post by Onetimeonly x--> »

I have a buddy who just picked up his Turkey license. Turkey guide stated if hunting with a Xbow a Xbow stamp is needed. The site/store could not provide him with a Xbow stamp because it was not available through the DNR site. Is the stamp not needed? Is the guide correct? Just wondering if anyone came across this same experience. Thanks

Thanks Dave, good point. That's his next step, he just asked if I would post.

"Crossbow hunters must have a crossbow stamp, available free of
charge from any license agent or online at www.michigan.gov/huntdrawings." This is listed on page 16 of the MI 2014 Spring Turkey Hunting Digest from the DNR.

https://www.michigan.gov/documents/dnr/ ... 3091_7.pdf

I would definitely follow up with a call to the DNR if it is not available, as the turkey guide is still calling for it.

The turkey guide was printed before the change went into effect. It will be updated in the guides this summer.I was told this by a DNR employee.but check into it if it makes you more comfortable.
