Re-serving Question

Post by joel0711 »

Has anyone used the limbs as a strecher to re-serve the string ? I thought it may work taking the limbs off and placing in a padded vice to hold them.
Would it work?? notwork?? don't do it??

Advice needed---THANKS

I will work but not nearly as well as if you build and used this Image
more details can be found here

This unit is strong enough to do what you have to do well and can be taken down for storage.
The more tension you can put on a string the more the string resists rotation, the greater the serving tension.

It will work but I like to get the string much tighter than that.
