hunting partner out of commission

Post by Backstraps »

So we had an unfortunate mishap last night. My 5 year old son and hunting partner took a spill in the park and broke his arm pretty bad. This will actually be his second time with his arm in a cast. Was a long evening in the hospital and a rough morning today. We won't know if it will need surgery for a few days yet when we meet with the Orthopedic surgeon.

I am still trying to kill my first turkey and he has been a great companion in the blind so far this season. He is going to be taking a couple weeks off because the arm and hand will be pretty tender and I don't want him to be uncomfortable walking in or sitting there thinking about it. Hoping he gets healed up quick so he can get back out there chasing Tom with me.

So so Sad.

Maybe a Camo Cast will help with his spirits.

Hope that everything works out well, heals fast and he gets out being a kid again very fast.

Poor little guy! :( I'm sure he'll bounce back in a hurry. Those youngins heal up a lot faster than us old fellas. Speedy recovery to your boy.

My youngest did the same thing - took Him about 4 days when He found out "IT" was a good weapon against His Bro. [one yr. older} that`s ancient history now, 40 yr. ago. they both giggle about it.

Second time ? ? Is He unlucky or 'Liven on the edge"
Take His mind off the problem. and he will be OK.
That face says, give Me a little sympathy.

I think he was playing it up with the face but he had just woke up from being under when I took the picture. He actually broke the same arm last summer in a similar accident and yes, he definitely lives close to the edge. Makes me worry what his teenage years will be like. He was actually talking last night about when we can go back out turkey hunting again so things are looking up. Hopefully by next week the swelling will be down and he will be in a hard cast instead of the splint he is in now. Really hoping we get good news about no surgery.

A boy after my own heart, he loves to play hard, I spent many hours in the hospital as a kid from playing a bit to hard LOL. Kids rebound real fast, won't be long before he will be sitting beside ya in your blind.
