My condolences Dan. I've never had a person as close to my heart as many of my dogs have been.

Dan, firstly I'm sorry to hear of your tough run. I wish a full and speedy recovery to your mother and congratulations on your wonderful daughters. They're lovely young ladies. My heart is breaking as I read about your dog. Mine is my baby girl and I know how much you can love your family pet. I'm grateful for the great life you and your family have given this wonderful little dog. My heart goes out to you all.

Really sorry to hear Dan. It has to be the absolute worst thing about having a little canine buddy...actually the only bad thing. On the bright side the wonderful times you guys shared will eventually outshine the pain. Might take a while, but will happen. Hang in there. :)

I put Gizmo's beds away in garage, all 5 of them. He had one in our bedroom, each of the daughters rooms, one in the family room, and one in the mess hall. He had it pretty good, but sad to have to do anyway.
Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

Hi Dan. I wish there was something wise and profound I could say or offer that would lend some solace. I've been thinking of you and your family daily since you posted and it's such a close topic to my heart as my yellow lab is ten next month. Just reading your posts chokes me up. I know it changes nothing but know that there are many people that share your grief and I hope there's some comfort in that. :(

Thanks all of you. My little angle is coming home next week, and she wants a dog. We are in deep discussion right now, because all dogs become mine after they get here! I don't mind training one for my family, but the Queen, and i have plans to do some things now that the youngn's are finished with school! You can only put your life on hold so long, it's time for Mom, and Dad to cut loose a bit too! I'm thinking Niagra Falls again! Yep, no kids too!
