Finished these guys last night. I hope to test them out this weekend.

Total Weight = 425gr
Easton FMJ shafts, bras inserts, Blazer vanes.
I intend to tip them with 150gr Magnus Stingers for a total weight of around 575gr

Did I understand correctly, buffalo as in bison? I'm guessing you're going to a ranch somewhere? What are you after and what kinda size have they got?

That weight will take down a buffalo, bison, big dang deer, or whatever you aim at! Nice looking bolts you got there too.

The Indians used to use a Wood shaft, with a Flint Broadhead. I think those will work. Good luck and happy Hunting!!

Yeah. American Bison. I am going to a place in Nebraska called Sandhills Outfitters. I shot one out there in Jan 2013. Real nice setup. The bison are left alone to do their own thing and eat only the natural prairie grasses - which makes them taste very good. I try to go every other year, as this is what my family eats. They have everything from yearlings to mature bulls. And Rick, the guide/owner is all about primitive weapons. Atlatls, bows, black powder - you name it. He is a very accomplished Sharps rifle shooter and even naps his own flint arrow heads like the native americans (same process) did. One of about 3 in the country that can do the technique. It's a fun time.

You got that right. I'm all about the momentum. The last time I went, I used the same setup with a 100gr Montec. I was able to get the BH through the animal each time, but only 1 arrow passed through. Bison and extremely tough, and I had to shoot him 3 times.

By upping the weight by 50gr and going to 2 blades, I hope to put it through with no issue.

Ha....they look exactly like my arrows I made last year for deer hunting...same colors and all!! If I didn't know any better I'd swear you swiped mine out of my quiver...  I think you're going to really like that set up. I was shooting a 2 blade Rage crossbow bh and it blew right through my doe's shoulder like it wasn't even there. The arrow carried at least another 15+ yards past her. I found it, washed it off, touched up the blades and put it back in the quiver. Can't even tell that it was used. Good luck with your hunt!
