Feathers and arrow question.

Which works better for vanes, turkey tails or turkey wing flights? Thanks guys.

I have only heard that wing feathers were the better. I ain't never fooled wid splittin none & grindin them down.

Left wing is left winged , Right wing is right winged . At least that's how I used to make them. Some glue and a few pins in the ceder shaft and the natural shape of the feather gave you the twist .

I have used wild turkey feathers and they seem to be stronger than domestic . only use the first 8 of each wing. call 3rivers archery and they steer you to a fellow that grinds them. did some for me . they fly ok at 4inch . 2 inch blazers will work as well with a twist. try both and you will find what works for you . good luck
