New year, new string etc

Post by duke19ex »

Gearing up for the next season. It will be short for me as I have a new baby girl arriving mid oct. Just picked up a new Flemish excalibur string. I bought my bow used last year, so this will be the first time to break in a string, any tips?

Other new gear: I got a summit ecs stoop tree stand, took me forever to figure out the harness last weekend. Will be scouting a location this weekend. I got regular screw in steps, hopefully I won't kill myself.

Hunting the southern md farm again this year. We have corn rather than sorgum, so hopefully deer will stick around in the early season. I think I've located a staging area, were the bucks are. Difficult thing is going to be getting in there without getting busted. Will likely hunt the corner were I took the last little doe last year. Can't wait to see the luminoks fly again.

Happy hunting

Install your string at a very high brace height and leave it there for at least day to help it settle it in. A high brace height will preload the limbs/string more causing the string to settle faster.

When climbing always use a safety harness secured to a lifeline. Remember it is not IF you fall but WHEN! Been there done that.
