Blazers hitting my rail

Post by crp »

Hi you all, new guy here. Question on blazers. I was fletching some B.E.E. s tonight with blazers for my 355 and it seems like the cock vane just lightly touches the bottom of the rail. Anybody else notice this. Maybe I'm just seeing things, but if it does touch, would it effect accuracy. Thanks for all replies

Welcome to the forum. IF it is touching the bottom of the rail, DO NOT SHOOT IT. The string could slide under the arrow and cause a dry fire type condition. Not good! :(

Don't know how to do the picture thing yet. I bought the blazers today at Cabelas. It's strange to me because a lot of people use blazers and haven't had this problem. Like I said before though, they are just barely touching the bottom.

X2, what frisky said. I would trim off some of the fletch so that you have clearance.

I'll try that, it looks like I have to trim just a hair off for clearence. Should I trim just the cock vane or all three?

Take the front of the crossbow off and look down the channel the cockvane rides in to make sure it is actually touching the bottom.

I'm curious, do your veins actually say Blazer? Sorry for the dumb question but are they the real dea or another brand shaped similarly? I'd say most here shoot blazers and it seems strange that they'd be contacting your rail. ???

Yes, they are the real blazers bought at Cabelas. I'll take the rail off and maybe get a better view. Thanks for all replies.

What diameter arrows are you using? Smaller dia. Arrows will sit lower in the channel . Just a thought

The old style Blazers w/o the Blazer logo are actually taller than their replacements. had that problem with a Parker I shoot. Went to 3" Fusion, work great.

I use BEEs from South Shore also. The channel depth on my Equinox rail is very close to 5/8" from the bottom of the channel to the top of the rail. I seem to have plenty of clearance with these arrows. FWIW
