GT II Pro or BEE .001 for Matrix 330

Post by robertyb »

After telling myself over and over that I do not need a new bow I broke down and bought a Matrix 330 yesterday. I have been looking at arrows on Wyverns site and see that he has the 18" BEEs custom built but also has the GTs which he says is a better arrow for the 310 and 330 Matrix. Both are the same price.

I gotta admit that I have been shooting 20" BEEs out of my Excal Vortex and am pretty partial to them. I was not impressed with the GTs I shot before but they were not the Pro series.

Which would you choose for the new Matrix and why?

I would go with Zombie Slayers at 17" long!

The 330 would do fine with a 0.001" Executioner, however, for a few bucks more per dozen you get Zombies that has a spine that is 25% stiffer. Being over spined does not affect flight like a vertical bow but it does mean that it will take longer to lose it's spine.
So far my experience with Gold Tips has been dismal and with BEA it has been stellar.

GT II's gave me fits for years with flyers and everytime I purchased a dozen raw shafts plenty of sorting was required to get a set that flew consistent.

Those headaches stopped when I switched to Black Eagles.

I used Gold Tips for years, and have nothing bad to say about them. I switched to Black Eagles, and I am glad i did, but Gold Tips killed a lot of deer for me! Just Saying.

Hey Dan, seeing that you've used both, which would you recommend or buy if you could choose only one?

I shoot the GT Laser 3 and my only complaint is you do get a flier or 2 when you buy a dozen. I think Boo is right. The Zombie seems to be the hot item right now. They will be my next upgrade.
