If 50 people respond to this thread, you will most likely get 50 different answers. Here's my 2 cents worth. I'd stick with a quality fixed blade BH. Find one that is accurate out to 50 yds and use it to practice with. With a fixed blade, there is less to go wrong than if you choose a mechanical. There's not a mechanical made that can take the abuse that a good fixed blade can take. Lot's of good fixed blades on the market. I shoot the Muzzy MX3 and Muzzy Crossbow. They both shoot really great in my Equinox and are really durable. Probably one of the cheaper heads you will find. I had to use a wood chisel to remove one from a pine tree after shooting a turkey. The head showed no sign of damage at all. I disassembled it and touched up the blades and used it to kill a hog the next day. It's back in my quiver, ready for another hunt.
What grain broadhead?
I shoot the 100 grain BH with a 92 grain brass insert on a GT Laser 3 bolt.
Thank you kindly.
I was looking at some today and debated about the weight.
With the heavier bolt cutters currently used it would be a simple matter of target work to confirm impact point and any required scope tweaking of a hundred grainer. Actually nothing against the bolt cutters having not used one on deer yet but muzzy's appeal. Just need to weigh an bolt before final selection.

100 g. 1"-- 4 blade slick tricks. They leave a hole blowing thru both sides of the deer bigger than a 12 ga. shotgun. Works for me and they fly perfect. Just don't care for the mechanical especially in freezing conditions of snow and ice.

I bought some 2 years ago and the quality leaves a lot to be desired. IMO the product now is not the product of old. But the price is nice.

BW, Muzzy was bought by Rage a few years ago. I don't think they've changed the head in any way. I tried a few Swhacker mechanical heads on some turkeys last year. They were only good for 1 bird each.Won't be wasting any more money on them. Unless I have some unforeseen issue with the Muzzy MX3, that will continue to be my BH. I found them on closeout last year at Wally World for 15 dollars per 3pk. I now have 9 heads. Use 3 to practice with and have the other 6 for hunting. I get 1/2 to 3/4 groups at 50 yds. Don't know what they would do past 50 because 50 is my personal limit. Good luck on whichever head you choose. Like I said earlier, there are a lot of great fixed blade heads on the market. They will all do the job if YOU put them where they're supposed to be.

THAT is exactly right. Choose the one you can put in the vitals.

Fixed blade, for sure!
Magnus stingers are very good, 125gr., accurate, dependable... I started using some old bear razor heads, that I had tucked away. 145gr., very accurate out to 50yds., Bottom line, If possible, try different heads and use what is the most accurate out of your bow set-up... Good luck!
