Bushnell Scout Bone Collector 1000 ARC RF - Anyone have one?

Post by Sandman »

Hello everyone,

I just arrived home from a week in Brunswick Georgia for work. While I was there I spent my off hours looking for a rangefinder. I eventually decided and bought the Bushnell Scout Bone Collector 1000 ARC Combo pack.

Up until a careless afternoon hunt  last November I had a older Bushnell and have been looking for one after several searches to find my old one were negative.

The RF was on sale from $299 for $229 at Dicks. The closest I can find here in Canada is $379 without the combo pack.

Just wondering if anyone has one and if so their thoughts on it?

Cheers,

I just got a team Primos 600 arc. Something I didn't notice with my older Bushnell rf's, this new one won't give me a reading in poor light. When I was under HEAVY canopy, no reading. Hope yours is better.

Have one that ate batteries after one use. Assume it was a fluke but still purchased a different brand. Don't want to take a chance in the woods.

I have one and it works great. You will be very please with it. Forth year and still have the same battery. I have tested it and it is still okay for this year. I always carry a spare though and check the spare also with a tester.

Thanks for comments all - I took it out to the farm today and tried it in every mode and was pleased. It started to pour so I gave it a water test and it worked great. I purchased a second battery and put it in my pack. Took another walk to try and find my old one now that the hay is off and came up empty again~!

I have never used that RF before, but I'm
sure you will get many years of use out of it.

My complaint is, anything that says Bone Collector
on it is severely over priced, especially here in Can.

But that's JMHO.

That's why I took the opportunity to buy it while I was in Georgia ... At $229 for the combo pack it didn't seem too steep as the RF alone in Canada is $379.

I purchased the same deal last year from Dicks also. I found its overall operation to be fine. I couldn't always get it to work in low light and even if it did, I couldn't see the LCD screen. I tried it out in my ground blind and it wouldn't work through shoot-through mesh so that was the deal breaker for me. I now own a Leupold.
