Mind you the six pointer that's coming through may only be 1.5 to 2.5 years old. Now I know I said I wasn't going to hunt the first 3 weeks because I had to shoot a doe first, but hey let's face it, venison is venison regardless of how many antler points it has. Sure do have a hankering for some back straps and burgers. May just go on Saturday and whack that doe to put some meat in the freezer. The hunting lodge ran out of venison early this year. LOL

That's why we have THERMACELLS! And bring on the snow. Nothing better than spotting them before they do you. 8)

To hot out for me to be out there yet. Plus I hate the earn a buck BS. Nothing worse than sitting on opening day and having a wall hanger walk by in shooting range and not being able to shoot it because you need to shoot a doe first. It's happened to me so many times over the years and most times I never saw those bucks again in range if at all.

You are absolutely right MJK. Just remember one thing about our ability to be able to hunt in NJ... It is to cull the heard so the deer have enough food and habitat for the area. I hear your pain however!

Assuming you hunt in the area you are from you are located in one of the best areas in the state for nice sized deer and wall hangers (used to be in a club in Lawrenceville)...The doe's looked like ponies...LOL!

Have fun and safe hunting!

Anthony :)
