Is The Vari-Zone Scope Better?

Post by Bifoot870 »

Back in the spring, I purchased a BNIB Vari-Zone scope VCB24X32, privately, (hoping to find a good used crossbow, without a scope....to no avail). I just purchased a new Axiom package, that came with the 2.5x scope, calibrated for 305 fps. I plan to install the Vari-Zone, if it is beneficial, especially to my tired eyes. Opinions, please. Also, I just watched Bill T's video. The Vari-Zone scope adjusts from 250 fps to 350 fps. Based on Bill's video 250 fps = 2x and 350 fps = 4x. So, set for 305 fps, it will be on 3x....correct?:)

Yes about 3x if you are shooting around 300 fps

I have the exact same deal. I have an Axiom package and bought a Varizone scope from a member on here on the trading post and I think it is great. It seems a little brighter and helps me shoot a little better with my "tired old eyes" as well. Our bow season here in Iowa starts Oct 1st, and I think I am ready with Firebolts and Bolt Cutter broad heads out to about 35 yards. Killed a decent buck last fall with a 125 grain Schwaker, but want to try the Bolt Cutters this year. Zero at 20 yards and then move out too 40 yards using the same 20 yard cross hairs and then adjust speed ring to put the 40 yard chevron on the arrow group that you just shot at 40 yards with the 20 yard crosshairs. Worked for me so good luck.

I like the V-zones. More flexibility on speed and arrow weight.....Have some patience, lol....
