Checked my trail cam today

Post by GrassyKnoll »

Took the day off to put the finishing touch on one of my spots for this Saturday's opener and look what showed up.... Figures, I'm in an "earn a buck " zone.

A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

GK I know this is a bit crazy but I had said to my dad Amythntr (Anthony). If I saw bucks like that I wasn't hunting the first 3 weeks and wait for earn a buck to be over. I noticed last year after we took our doe it seemed like they all disappeared. Those are some fine looking bucks especially for the garden state. Good luck this season. Hope to see a pic of you holding one of them.

Anthony,
I used to hunt Walpack every year up till I got married and moved down to Jackson... I truly miss the beautiful hard woods and mountains of your area.. Feels like being in a different state..

Hunted the mountain directly across the valley from Buttermilk Falls. I would always take the first two weeks of November off and stay at the Forest Motel.. The owner would only charge me $28.00 a night.... Good times.. lol
