First deer with new used Axoim!!

Well we got it done on opening day this afternoon. I took my son and daughter to a friends place this afternoon hunting out of a pop up blind. The deer were moving early for some reason. This 7 point came out at 6:30. Busted him with Rage 2-blade 100 grn at 20 yards first deer with my new "used" Axiom and also first for me with the Rage broad head and also first Velvet buck I have ever killed. He only made it about 40 yards and down for the count. My son is next inline for his first deer. Will not let me load pics for some reason.

This is the best part about it. My son was so fired up we sat until dark and had a cow horn spike come in behind us but he got our scent and it was getting dark. I tried to set my son up for a shot but he could not get a clear view of the deer in the scope so I told him not to shoot. It was hard for me to stop him but I didn't want his first deer to be a bad shot and not recover the deer.

Best move you could make! My buddy took his daughter a few years back, and she gut shot a big doe. He made her look with him until 11:30 PM. Not found, and she got sick to her stomach on the drive home, never hunted again! When your son grows up, he'll remember that too!

.....wow...such a great story all around...congrats to you and your son (most probably he did dream about the whole day spent with you)...
