I hear that Excalibur has decided to shorten their strings a bit.
What influence will this have?

Allow them to settle without ruining the bumpers in shipping. Hopefully be high enough on brace height when sighting the bow in as well.

Dan is correct. It was found that in-between assembly and delivery of the Matrix crossbows, the strings were creeping more than expected. By shortening the initial overall length the desired brace height should be obtained by the time they are sold.

The limb dimensions were shorted very slightly which caused the issue with string length and brace height. The strings were shortened by a mere 3/16" which accommodates both old and newer dimensions.
