Scotland Adventure

Post by agingcrossbower »

Like to share this with all of you. We recently went on a vacation to Ireland and Scotland. In Scotland we hooked up with Snuffbox (Paul) and his lovely wife Sheila in Edinburgh. We had a great time as we always do with are friends across the pond and wanted to share some pics.

The man was dress for the period. Notice the Christmas ball hanging between his legs. I did not know how to ask the man the purpose of his red ball so Snuff did. He says glancing towards me that I was shy and would like to know what the purpose of the ball was for. Sneaky! Well he explained that the garments came together there and that it was the binding in a ball. The other vision was that at the time King George was having a hard time fornicating a child. At the time the only way to find out if the King was at fault was to have him fornicate maidens to see if they would become pregnant. Well, he caught a sexually transmitted disease and the only thing that they knew was to wrap the ailing parts in question with cloth. Hence the ball between the legs. And then he winked.   Other than that Ask Snuffbox.

SEW wrote:Great pictures! I was stationed at Upper Heyford RAF, 'and made a lot of visits up there. Loved the castle, especially the armory and dog cemetery. Royal mile is impressive also. You just relit our desire to return. How was the tempature? Where all did you go? Surprised Scotland didn't select independence?
Oh, we say Edinburgh and Stirling castles. Did a day bus trip to look for the loc Ness Monster. He was not home. But on the way they had tons of sites to see and one was of a training area and tribute to the British Commando's that gave there lives so we can enjoy this life. VERY MOVING. Also lots of sites to see in Edinburgh city, Just walking the beach and watching the residents with all their dogs was great. It is a very interesting place and I was surprised to that they did not go for independence. Change is hard I guess.
