Brand new axiom, what gives??????

Post by Pasidewinder »

I know my post is a little mis-leading, but man is this a heck of a crossbow! I almost feel like i should send excalibur another 100.00 dollars just so it doesnt feel like i ripped them off!!!

In all seriousness, i will admit i was a little skeptical about this bow in the beginning. Ive only ever shot wheeled bows in the past but im on the band wagon now. I read alot of reviews in the internet, and all were good but i still just was wasnt sure. That has changed!!!

I had a chance to put about 50 bolts through this crossbow thismorning, although the scope had me a bit puzzled at first as far as the "clicks" i am used too in all my other scopes but i figured it out pretty quickly. This is the most accurate and consistant arcery equipment i have ever owned!

It was actually "easy" to put a bolt into a 1" target sticker at all yardages once sighted in. And it wust be relatively powerful because it was pushing the back out of a brand new never shot bag target with 125 grn tips! I have no doubt the origional 150 grainers would have blown clean through it!

As far as noise and vibration, it is actually mild compared to some of the crossbows i have shot and i have no doubt i can quiet it down a little moer but it is only personal preference to do so as i believe that it would be a non-issue in the hunting woods.

For once i actually purchased a product that lives up to its reputation, and i would not hesitate to recommend this crossbow to anyone looking to buy a great product. Thanks excalibur, for makeing a GREAT product!!!!

And a double thanks to everyone here that took the time to answer some of my "noob" questions. Im sure i will prbly have more in the future but for now im heading back out to my bench and "amazing" myself some more!!!!!

Awesome! I'm glad, although not surprised, that you're loving the new bow. :D

Now be sure to shoot several arrows at the same dot on the target without pulling them between shots.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. Like Paul said I'm glad and not surprised. Pretty soon you'll be like many on this forum wondering just how accurate can you get? Let your fun begin.....

As for quieting it down, you nailed it with the "personal preference" line....and IMO (if you are going to hunt with it) the only thing to do is use a heavier arrow. Everything else will only slow down the arrow with nothing to show for it. At least with a heavier arrow you'll gain some momentum. But if you are a target shooter then all is fair game.

Welcome aboard.
I'm fairly new here as well after recently purchasing my first crossbow.
I went with the Matrix 310 and am very pleased with what I have.
It is very accurate, has plenty of speed, and is compact for hunting.
The Axiom is a very nice yet affordable crossbow.
It should bring you a lifetime of memories :)
