Replacement cord for rope cocker question...

What do y'all use to replace the cord on the excal rope cocking cord :?:
My original cocker isn't safe to use anymore, seems i remember someone using a lawnmower pull rope...any idea's :?:

I also replaced mine with a mower cord of the same diameter. Works fine. Only difference is that it is now white instead of black.

Samson amsteel rope, tuff as nails has nice price per foot

I used yellow 5mm kernmantle rope from REI. Super strong, and being yellow, hi viz!

I also used amsteel,,,in yellow,,1/8 inch dia. about 2500 lbs of breaking strength, You can get it at any marine rope selling retailer, or here by the foot:

Amsteel has no stretch whatsoever. Nor does it absorb water. The larger dia. is used for winch cables in 4 x 4's.

I bought mine from reddenmarine, i put 1/8" on my C2 & you can certainly put it on rope cocker or step up to the 3/16"

Amsteel is awesome for spicing also...you can make all kinds of splices like a locking Brummel for example. If it even frays alittle,,,no worrying as melt it lightly and keep on using. I have it on a hammock that I use every nite almost sleeping and have used it more than 2 yrs and still going strong and its only the 7/64th dia amsteel.

I use 550 paracord, colors vary on the wants of the user.
