Decocking 380

Post by tammie »

So I've had my 380 for a couple of years now , used an equinox before that .ive always been too intimidated to try to decock either one because I'm short & it's hard for me.so I always take my rhinehart target when I go by myself, is a pain ! When I got out of my stand the other day I waited for my husband to get there & uncock my 380.he watched me put the cocking string in place & said tammie you can do this it's easy !nope I'm scared!he refused to do it said I need to know how! I got a little miffed & then by god I did it!#girlkeepingupwiththeguy

Just remember to take that arrow beforehand every time. That could get ridiculous in a hurry if you forgot.

I was a little shy of my 405 for the first time - Once I did it I realized it was as easy as my Exomax.

....I came out of the woods when it was still light out because all I could think of while hunting is "what if I can't get this beast decocked?" Now its not even a second thought...but still be very aware and careful!

One suggestion I have is to be sure that you put all of your weight on the foot that is in the stirrup to keep the CB steady while you uncock.
