Matrix 330

Post by bdmilo »

I just bought the 330 Matrix and it comes with the Diablo Bolts w/150gr field tips. I dont have the extra cash laying around to spend on finding the right grain tip, bolt or broadhead. Any insight on the right direction would be very helpfull in my situation. Thank you very much for your input.

When I ordered mine from Wyvern Creations, David suggested the Laser II Gold Tip Arrows with 100 grain field tips and broad heads. They have the small blazer fletchings. I have practiced out to 50 yards and they are dead on.

You can call him or email him, he is very helpful.

Forgot to add - the 100 grain slick tricks are good. Also Walmart sells for less than $15 per 3, the 100 grain 4 blade 1" Carbon Express fixed broadheads. They look good and have gotten good reviews in the research that I have done.

Thank you. So they fly just as good with 100gr then 150gr? This would increase the FPS for the vari scope, correct?

....I would hope that someone more knowledgeable will chirp in regarding the M330...

but I am pretty sure that there is a minimum grain arrow that can be fired out of these Matrix Crossbows to avoid a potential dry fire and damage to the bow. I believe that the Diablo's with the 150 grain field tip (BH) are 350g. Swapping out the 150g fieldtip/BH for a 100g( FT or BH) might be a problem.

By the way congrats on your new Matrix and welcome to the forum!

I have been shooting my 330 matrix with the stock arrows.Diablos.Just get you some excalibur 150gr broadheads and your all set. They shoot like the field points.I just killed a nice buck with that combo last week. Next year I may get some of Wyverns arrows too but for now these work fine. You can check out my buck on one of my post last week.

Bdmilo....you might want to complete your profile information. Many find it helpful in that there could be someone on the forum who is close by that could help you out with questions or to try equipment they are using....just saying.

I also bought the matrix 330 and put the 150gr Boltcuttters on. Nothing fancy but it did the job for my doe this year. Clean pass through and still buried half of the arrow in the ground on the other side.

I did invest in the same diablo arrows with the luminoks...well worth the investment in my opinion.

Please note that I never claimed to be an expert (and never will). Just conveyed what I was using with great success and where someone could get expert advice. The 330 has a minimum arrow weight of 350 grains.

The Diablo arrows weigh 250 grains. Thus you can shoot a 100 grain head if you want to. I greatly prefer the BEEs with a 100 grain head in my M330.

....I was under the impression that the Diablo's with 150g FT or BH were 350 grain...If that is the case taking 150g off in FT/BH would be 200g not 250g...

....I just do not want someone potentially dryfiring their crossbow because of misinformation either by me or someone else.

...can someone who knows the exact weight of this setup chime in...thanks!

The stock Diablo is 250 grains..give or take a grain...So a 100 grain point or broad head is safe..although 375 be optimum for 330 in my opinion. Perfect weight for speed and knockdown!! :D

OK...I stand corrected...I was just under the impression that the set up was at 350G (including the FT) and that was just one element in obtaining the factory advertised FPS...

....I just reread the listing for the Matrix bows which confirms the 350g setup with the 150 FT's which are included....now I am really confused...my bad if I am confused by what I am reading!
