Congrats on a very nice buck! BTW, did it break your arrow? Can't tell if its laying under grass or in two pieces. That's quite a blood trail, that's tracking made easy! :D

WOW, that is a big boned head, Congrats! I concur with the 170 grain FOC, I took a 2 1/2 year old meat doe on Saturday with my 405/FOC had had similar blood trails and short recovery.

I picked up a couple packs of FOC's the other day on EBay for $32 and free shipping..

I would add a dental band or two on the FOC if using them on the 405. On the 380 or below I don't.
I might add that I build my arrows around the FOC so that the FOC blades sit at 9 and 3 o'clock while on deck.

What is the build of your arrows if you don't mind me asking?

I am thinking of trying 2 different arrow setups. One is a GT Lazer IV shaft and the other would be BE Zombie slayers. Both cut to 18". Looking to get about 450 to 475 grain arrow with the GT loaded with the FOC and Zombies around 400 to 425 grains with the standard 100 gr head. This way I can use whatever I want. Thinking of trying 6 of each and see how they do in my setup.
