Buck down

Post by strum »

I shot this 7 point this morning around 8am .
Not a monster but for around here he is good deer.
that's the good news ..the bad is so much of this deer is toast :(
it was in crossbow range but I had my 30.06. I put the crosshair just behind the front shoulder quartered away ..perfect right?
either I wiggled or he moved or I just missed  but I hit the front shoulder in the heavy bone part.. bullet exploded. took out both shoulders and fragments went into the gut sack all the way out one of the hinds.
never seen such carnage. im a little bummed but I salvaged what I could and thank the lord for it!!

Congrats Strum. Nice buck. It's a shame when meat gets wrecked but what's left should still be tasty. :D
