Foot/Ankle Update #2

Post by GooGoos »

I had a doctors apt this morning and it went pretty good. I got both good and bad news though.

Good news is I am now KINDA walking, and there is nothing broken. I have been told I have a Grade 2 high ankle sprain. I am starting to walk again with an ankle brace on. Alot of discoloration in my foot. This is where the bad news comes in. I some how managed with my luck to pull, and possibly tore the one tendon in the foot/ankle that takes the longest to heal. I am looking at being able to go back to work in two weeks. As well looking at a min of 8 week recovery time, and that's not even a full recovery.

I go back in a week and a half for another follow up, and for good news hopefully that I can go back to work.

Wish it could've been better news but really it could've been much worse. Take care of that ankle and do all the physio which will be necessary to help reduce swelling and strengthen your stabilizer muscles....and get yourself ready to get out there next season and do your part in deer management! :D :D :D
praise the Lord and a speedy recovery to you

My son-in-lay had surgery on his rolled ankel. You don't want that. (trust me on that) Take it easy and listen to the Doctor. Nurse that ankle back to health! :D :D

Take care of it and hopefully it will heal quickly.

I know it can be painful, I think the only time in my life I ever fainted was when I tried to walk right after spraining my knees & ankles (parachute malfunction turned me into the wind as I landed and I hit a bit too hard). Luckily mine wasn't too severe and I was up & walking (slowly & carefully  ) after a couple days rest.

Hopefully your recovery will be quick.
Perhaps a little hunting therapy will help.

Walking/hobbling, at your house and in your yard are one thing. Out in the woods with the uneven terrain being something else. Be careful and dont hurt it worse.Take care.
