Cocking cb with safety on

Post by nyexhunter »

I wasn't paying attention and cocked my Matrix 330 with the safety on. Will this harm the crossbow?
If not, this may be the way I do it from now on, since I will not need to worry about setting the safety after cocking.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

Is it cocked, or has the ADF caught the string?

If it's cocking with the safety engaged i would stop shooting it immediately and contact Excalibur....what vixenmaster and wabi said...X2 on both.

Yikes!!

Try it again.

If it cocks with the safety on do as others have said. Send it in for a new trigger!!

That's actually frightening. Try loading your bow (where you can shoot it), engage the safety and see if it will shoot while the safety is on. Likewise, try loading it with the safety engaged and then see if it will shoot with the safety still 'on'. Is the trigger seated properly? I'm wondering if it's not and the string is getting under the jaws. Anyway, what was said before.

BE CAREFULL
That is not normal.
The safety must be off (you see a red point) to cock the CB!(without ADF).

O.K. - I tried again and it would not cock with the safety on.

Must have been half asleep when I cocked my crossbow at my treestand at 6 a.m and put the safety on without remembering that I did it.

Sorry for the false alarm.
