2014 Iowa Whitetail Updated 9/20/15 with pics

Post by typical10 »

Shot this Iowa buck 2 miles from the house, he is a straight 10 with a 164" of bone. Shot him with my M380 and 3 blade rages. He played the game for over 30 minutes, coming in upwind of me to a bleet can. Shot him quartering towards me, running a 18" Zombie thru him almost front to back with the tip protruding the left ham. My field pics were deleted befored copied, so I have to show you him mounted. This is my first crossbow buck. He will fit nicely on my whitetail wall, thanks to everyone on here who helped my get started. jeff~
He is ready for the whitetail wall:

WOW!!!!!!!

I have 2 mounts & one on the way. The wife thinks 3 mounts are excessive. LOL

That is amazing stuff...

Congratulations Jeff, that's awesome! Very impressive trophy room indeed, including the gorgeous moose rack on the ceiling. Funny thing, I put down my compound for a crossbow after a reconstruction surgery on my R shoulder followed by two torn in the other the following year. I'm really loving it as well. Good on ya! :D

A giant like that I'd be trying to recover those photos. I'm sure it can be done.

Congratulations on what sounds like a very nce deer. I hunt in the other corner, SE Iowa and have been seeing very few deer around here. I don't want to sound like the internet police but just a point of information that I didn't know until last month. Iowa requires the use of a THREE blade broad, either fixed or mechanical for use with a crossbow. Also there was some talk on another board about people getting tickets for posting pictures of bucks that had been moved or were in the back of pickups with out the Iowa harvest tag on the antlers. The laws states that the tag must be afixed before the deer is moved at all. Just a bit of info for everyone, myself included!
