Threads on Ramcats and arrow inserts...
I bought a pack of Ramcat broadheads to try out, when I went to install them onto my arrows I noticed that the threaded portion on the Cats was a much smaller diameter than my arrow inserts and therefore wont screw in. Admittedly I'm new to this stuff, but I thought inserts and broadheads used a standard thread/fitting size. Do they make an arrow insert with a smaller thread diameter? is there a ferule I can screw the Ramcats into then use my existing inserts? thx for any help...
Re: Threads on Ramcats and arrow inserts...
sounds like you bought the deep six heads. Deep six is a smaller insert for vert arrows.

DOH, that's exactly what I did!, I just checked my order on Amazon.ca and that's what was ordered.newbie wrote:sounds like you bought the deep six heads. Deep six is a smaller insert for vert arrows.
Oh well, live and learn...Well if anyone in the Toronto area is looking for 3 brand new, never been shot 100gn (Deep Six with special thread (6-40) Ramcats drop me a PM, $35 all in. It's not a total loss though now that I think about it, I can always scavenge the blades out them as a replacement set for the correct heads I'm going to now have to buy..
Thanks for the heads up BTW, won't make that mistake again!
