How many notches are in your stock?

Post by Mister B »

It just finished reading a thread about a member listing a large number of deer taken with a certain broad head and started wondering...out of curiosity, since some of you have been shooting crossbows for ages, let's see who out there owns the Excalibur crossbow that, single handedly, has taken the most whitetail deer. My latest 355 (the Shrike) has shot six deer. My 330 (MiniMag) only three. Be honest and tell us what bow out there has harvested the most deer?

Our one Matrix 380 in 2 seasons has taken 14 deer with 7 of them being buck and also 2 gobblers. I didn't notch the stock though. LOL.

I've killed 30 deer, a turkey, and a bobcat with my old Exomax, and I've killed 3 deer and a turkey with my new Matrix 380.

If I had kept count I might have an upper hand as I still use an Excalibur Relayer (over 30 years) but I basicly have been limited to one deer a year (not successful every year).

I have also taken many turkeys. I have not felt the need to keep a personal record of my harvests.

Man - you guys are "cheating"

In Ontario we only get 1 (one - uno) Deer tag per year and that has to be shared in the Early Bow, Gun, Late Bow, Blackpowder and Late, Late Bow season.

Punch your ticket and you are out.

30 deer would be 30 "seasons" - spoiled brats

True in most of Ontario. Fortunately for me the areas I hunt have extra tags. I have 5 tags this year:

WMU 78 - Additional - Filled
WMU 80 - Additional - Filled
WMU 80 - Additional - Filled
WMU 82a - Additional - Filled
WMU 82a - Primary - To be filled

In terms of # per bow they are spread out over 6 different Xbows and a few rifles so the highest on any one single is probably 12 or so.

4 deer over two seasons with my M380, (only seven total kills with a crossbow but that's over about a 3 year period).

I had an APA Mamba X1 with over 15 whitetail kills, but that was many bows ago.
