MATRIX 355 BRACE HEIGHT QUESTION
I am installing the reds bumpers on my Matrix 355. I have read that you should have a 1/8 to 3/16 gap between the bumpers and the string. My string is right over the inscribed line on the rail so I suspect it is at the correct brace height. When I install the REDS as far back as they can go they still contact the string with no gap?
Do I need to adjust the string so that it is 1/8 to 3/16 beyond the inscribed line on the rail to create the gap or do I need to modify the REDS components?

Re: MATRIX 355 BRACE HEIGHT QUESTION
So I added a few twists to the string and it did the job. I now have a 3/16 gap between the REDS and the string and my brace height measured from the joint is 3/4 of an inch.

Perfect. I've marked the side of my rail with a sharpie right at 3 /4 of an inch off the joint. It allows for a quick easy reference.CT.HNTR wrote:So I added a few twists to the string and it did the job. Re: MATRIX 355 BRACE HEIGHT QUESTION
I'm having the same issue now . The past few shots my string is hitting the reds. Do obviously the string stretched. There is still a gap but I should adjust my string. Does anybody have a link to a video on string tightening?
Re: MATRIX 355 BRACE HEIGHT QUESTION
Heres a pic showing how to get your string off the bumpers . Give it about 3 0r 4 twist in the direction the picture shows . Just routine adjustments , Its about the only thing you have to do to a Excal ! LOL

Re: MATRIX 355 BRACE HEIGHT QUESTION
I just bought a matrix 355 and am confused about brace height
Partly cause the online manual and the booklet that came with it are worded different
She has about 25 shots on it
I do not have the RED s yet, but ordered them today
Since I am going to do some shooting tomorrow in prep for a couple more days of hunting I want to get this brace height right before the REDs get here
I assume we measure from the spot on the rail that turns vertical at the end of the rail? When the bow is facing away, like ready to shoot
And that this vertical piece is called the riser?
Then we measure back to the centre of the string?
If correct in my understanding my gap is about 1/2 inch
Please advise, thanks

Re: MATRIX 355 BRACE HEIGHT QUESTION
You want aprox 1/4" between the bumpers and the string for the best accuracy. The reasoning is that you don't want the arrow to be in full contact with the string when it (the string) hits the bumpers.

Re: MATRIX 355 BRACE HEIGHT QUESTION
The string on my Matrix 355 is about 1-1/8" from the riser. If you set yours at that height you should be just about right. You may need a minor adjustment when you install your bumpers.

Re: MATRIX 355 BRACE HEIGHT QUESTION
Sorry Newguy I gave you the wrong info. My string is set at 3/4" from the riser. The riser is attached to the front of your rail.

Interesting !
Something New for me to ponder.
Always looked at this subject from a limb protect / reds pads protection issue.
