Fletching Preferences??

Post by Shoebuck »

What is your preferred Fletch for your arrows and or quills and or bolts. What fletching device do you use and and how much offset or hellical do you put on.

Back in the early 90's Bill Troubridge the owner/CEO of Excalibur suggested the Arizona EZ Fletch tool to me so that I could fletch my own arrows and I have used that tool with success ever since.
Fast forward to today the Arizona Company offers the "Bolt" with an ideal offset using 2" Blazer style fletchings that is most suited for crossbow arrows.

X4 on the Arizona EZ Fletch Bolt.

For fletching, I like real feathers, with the 2" "Rayzr" from Gateway as my go to fletch.

I thought the Arizona EZ fletch slaps on a right helical....am I mistaken and it is really an offset?....and am i also mistaken that, that cannot be adjusted...just want a clarification...

I'm new to the hobby, but I purchased the Arizona E-Z Fletch Blot shortly after purchasing my crossbow and I'm able to re-fletch all of my crossbow arrows with no problem.
I'm not sure about it being right helical, but I think it isn't offset, and I do know it can't be adjusted.
But, when you talk about Arizona E-Z Fletch, there is more than 1 kind of Arizone E-Z Fletch tool. Here's the web site that explains each Arizona E-Z Fletch tool: http://ezfletch.com/pages.php?pageid=8

I have 3" Fusion Vanes on my arrows. They are a tad lower in profile than most.

I like em.

I am using the black/grey Arizona E-Z Fletch marked "L" for my crossbow arrows. I originally bought this to fletch left wing feathers on my trad arrows. It also allows for fletching larger diameter arrows. It is helical and offset for left spin. The arms allow for fletching 5 inch feathers............thinking on buying new shorter replacement arms for fletching 2-3 inch vanes.

I have been using the Arizona E-Z Fletch Bolt with right helical and 2 inch blazer vanes. Accuracy has been great with 18 inch FMJ bolts.
