one step closer to the new matrix mounts

Post by munch »

i got the auto cad program for the new matrix mounts today as well as rope cocker hooks made from aluminum .im only going to order a dozen hooks until i see they work before cutting a bunch. would like to gauge interest in the matrix mounts to get an idea how many to cut. there have been a few guys interested .if you will just post names again i will start a list. here are computer generated pics

A stronger hook would never be a disadvantage as far as safety is concerned.

Having said that, would the hook be plastic coated? I'm wondering if metal would be hard on finish? There is so much energy required to cock a bow, would metal on metal or metal on plastic wear more than the current hooks?

....I had the same query with regard to said hooks!

....I am a little confused on the Mounts Terry...are these for the micro or matrix?

The hooks look pretty interesting Terry. I'm guessing there'd be rounded edges and a TONNE of polishing required to keep from fraying the rope.

not the micro . its the same size as a micro but will say matrix, these are about 9 or 10 grams lighter than a regular ystyle. im also trying to find a Teflon coating or ceramic to do the hooks with. maybe someone else has an idea for a coating that would work better. i have tghought of a nylon wheel that would rool as you pull bacl. i would use a bolt with a shoulder. is a work in progress. R & D LOL

Paul my thought was to round the corners then put them in a rock polisher type machine to round them up then throw them in my brass polisher with walnut shells . just thinking

Terry,
Looking good! I would like the new lighter Matrix mount in camo for my M/380.
When ready, please ship it with the Camo and Black micro
mounts and camo camera mount that I ordered.
Thanks,
Dave

Sounds easier than what I was thinking Terry. My thought was to start with a courser grit sandpaper and polish the edges in a shoe shine fashion working my way up to 1200-1600 grit until I had a mirror looking finish. I'm thinking I get a little carried away sometimes.

I've already got a mount on all three crossbows, but I'm definitely all in on the hooks. Sign me up and PM me a bill for THREE SETS.
