Reducing Xbow noise

Post by Tman »

Has anyone tried the Limbsaver Enhancer 2000 on their Xbow.
I stuffed the hollow space in my Exocet with egg crate foam and it helped
some. I want to do all that I can to lessen noise without applying anything to the limbs or string. Someone told me the Enhancer 2000 will help but
I do not want to spend the money before I get some SOUND advice :D
If the Enhancer works then where is the best place to attach one.

Good day to all :)

T-man: I guess you could call me C-man. I live near Clanton, Alabama. I have haunted this forum since late 2002, and have seen this subject chewed over ever since I came aboard. My conclusion is that the best thing to do is to limit your shot distance to 30 yards. At that range, the deer is still wondering what is happening as the bolt exits from the off side. Don't worry about the noise, just be sure that the distance to the game is no more than 30 or 35 yards. Striper

Just like striper said, limited distance is the best. You can limit the sound made by your bow, but how do you limit the sound your arrow makes, and yes your arrow makes actually quite alot of noise.

Speed of arrow/distance of animal is the best to overcome the sound problem.

T-man,
The one easy thing that I did to my Exomag was wrap the stirrup in rubber( Simm's Insulated Grip Wrap). This stopped the stirrup from resonating upon the shot and cut down my noise quite a bit. I hope this is helpful!!

Thanks

Thanks Guys for the helpful information. I guess I will leave the exocet
as is for now and let the speed do its job.

Wrapping string

Rockodoc,
Did the Simm's wrap reduce your arrow speed?

No speed loss whatsoever ( does not contact the limb or the string ).
