Here's my reasoning good or bad. I decided to set up 2 xbows as ideal as practical and let that be it. I did the same with a custom rifle: 21" barrel 6MM PPC USA 0.262" neck. 12 twist so I can shoot up to 80g bullets. On a custom stock/action. 12 oz Jewell trigger, etc. It's my do everything gun. Will shoot 0.25" 5 shot groups at 100 yds and appx 1" @ 300 yds. Wanted the same with xbow. No more changing every 2-3 years. Set my anchor and will stay with the 380 & 405 indefinitely. I've invested(spent) a fortune on each.
On the 405, (which I can rope cock) a Duralyt 2-8 lighted/Optimizer, TT, custom string/silencers, numerous silencing measures. On 380, (easy to cock) all the same except Air Brakes, limb silencers, Zeiss 75 , and Aging's stock. Though I can easily cock the 380 and less easy the 405, the day may come that the C-2 will become part of the scene. I'll be ready. I'm sure that involved considerable extra work for which I'm greatful. If I don't like the Zeiss 75 after testing, the Optimizer/Duralyt will go back on. Doubt that will happen.
Likely the 380 will get shot the most, but the later hunting will be exclusively the 405; and maybe , much of the earlier also. I won't worship the 380/Aging's stock; but it'll be well cared for.
Mike, thanks do much.

I'll just say that Steve is a stand up guy with tons of patience and a pleasure to make a stock for. I hope it serves you well. And heck, you do not have to worship it. A little furniture wax is all the attention it needs.

SEW, that is an excellent plan. Very happy for you to get such a great piece of art to compliment your crossbow. The work speaks volumes for the level of craftsmanship Mike has, and the time spent to make it will be something people speak of for many years. That stock on any crossbow would be an heirloom to treasure for anyone, and I hope you have someone special to leave it to, many, many years from now!
