2016 and 2018 Easton arrows

Post by drodeo »

Thanks for the quick reply on the 25 series arrows.. I wont be using them. Dug out my arrows and I have the 2016 and 2018 arrows not 2116,2117. Will the 2016,2018 work in my Excal? Can someone tell me what aluminum arrows will work well in Excal? Thanks again.

If I were going to use aluminum I would go with a 2219. I have heard that a few have used 2216. IMO, I WOULD NOT attempt to use any of the shafts that you have listed on any crossbow.

Years ago Excalibur had a range of diameters listed, but I can no longer find it.
I'd call Excalibur (or Danny Miller) and ask if the 20** series would work.

I know Excalibur at one time sold/recommended 21** series, then 22** series replaced the 21** series.

I like 2215s & 2216s with my Phoenix.

I humbly stand corrected. Wabi, Mike, and Wes got more experience than I do feedn' crossbows. I've got to change my way of thinkin now that I shoot a crossbow. Up until last fall I was shooten a 72 lb recurve and 70 lb compound using 32" 2317, 2514 and 300 spined carbons. I still have a lot to learn for a 52 year old retired vertical bow hunter.

Actually, 2219s are a very popular shaft size.
Anything in the 20 or 21 series will work as long as you keep at or above the 350 gr total weight minimum.

When Excalibur first came out the standard arrow was Easton 2117. Easton then stopped production of the 2117 and went to the 2216. At this time, the 2216 arrow was the standard. As it worked out, weight wise, the 2117 & 2216 arrows were practically the same. I can mix sizes and have same point of impact.

I know my dad's Exomag came with 2117 arrows and now shoots 2216's.

Easton still makes 2117 arrows , or started to make them again . My new recently purchased FluFlu arrows for my long bow are 2117 easton gamegetters .
