Firenock D nock on a Micro?

Post by ClintRhodes »

Has anyone tried a D nock on a Micro? I would like to try these but I don't want to spend the money just to find out they don't fit that well on the string.

I don't think you want to use any type of nock that grabs the string. It's not like shooting a vertical bow. Excalibur only recommends using flat nocks on the arrows that you shoot out of any of the Excalibur line bows.

I clicked on the link but couldn't expand the image on my phone. Personally, I'd stick with the flat nocks. I'm getting ridiculously accurate groups out to 110yards and can't see gaining anything by using a different nock style. I know there are some nocks that can actually damage your serving and even cause a partial dry fire. Don't fix what's not broken. Jmo..

Not interested in F style. That's not a snap on containment nock.

if your string doesn't hit the center of the arrow diameter then a capture nock might hurt accuracy.

What's your incentive to shoot a capture style nock? Are you planning on removing your arrow retainer? I'm just not understanding what you're trying to do. Legitimate question, I'm not giving you the business.

3 reasons I want to try one:

1. just because I like trying things :)
2. I like the positive click letting me know the arrow is seated properly
3. I like the idea of the nock holding onto the string to help prevent the arrow from sliding forward.

Mainly #1 though. I'm perfectly fine with flat nocks. Oh and no way I'm removing the arrow retention arm.

I should've re read the memo from 'tinkerers 101' ......I'll still stick with flat nocks though.
